I fully understand the fact that I need to do those things so I can accomplish my dream. Want to add to the discussion. You just can't imagine the heap o' hurt you're potentially setting yourself up for. Now that I am married, it has become more apparent that his previous comments about not minding if his wife has a career, were not entirely accurate. As a man who married a non-Mormon woman, my story has a slightly different view point, but it comes down to essentially the same principles. Then she can have a chance to actually be the individual she is, and they can have an adult conversation about their future and whether or not they have one. I can totally understand. But I also know that He loves us so much that He would never take away our ability to choose for ourselves. Girls then struggle to reconcile degenerate popular culture with Mormon expectations.
This is starting to upset me though and I'm tired of waiting for change, so how should I approach the conversation. I believe strongly that I was meant to marry my spouse. However, if you are a Catholic guy dating a Mormon girl, then remember that her parents may be averse to it. BUT it could easily have gone the other way. As others mentioned, when they are home they are often exhausted, catching up on sleep, preparing a presentation or catching up on notes. And, whether she knows it or not she probably does know it but is in denialshe probably sees you as her ticket out of Oldmaidsville. It has nothing to do with their career. IMO he should've been up-front about that before beginning to date you, but, sounds like you're okay with it now that everything's clear.
