A unique combination of real life and fiction, the Naked Brothers Band are the project of the Wolff brothers, Nat and Alex, who started a band when they were in preschool. Nat Wolff, who was still just 11 years old when the show went on the air, is the Naked Brothers Band's singer and songwriter; Alex, who was eight at the time, is the drummer. The movie featured a slightly different group of kids, with the Wolff brothers and Levi joined by Joshua Kaye and Thomas Batuello. The Naked Brothers Band series earned Nickelodeon's best debut ratings in seven years. Along with the film she wanted her sons to record songs, as if it they were recording a soundtrack for the film. Nat Wolff began writing music for the film in late , having already written and recorded "Crazy Car" he had to write very few songs. Recording began in early , when Nat was just 9 years old. They picked the show up in Polly Draper asked her boys to record all the music for the series as an album. After being asked to record an album, the brothers began writing several songs for the show. The songs had a pop style, directed more for younger viewers. Alex was only able to write two songs for the series, due to being 8 at the time.
